First, let me say that I have done extensive installations in the past in my trucks, motorhomes, and boats. Multi-amp, processors, subs, wired remotes, everything.
So my confidence in doing it myself is high. It was very straightforward until it came to a couple of issues:
My truck has a "Traction Control off" button on it. I sent photos showing it when I ordered it. The unit I got has two hazard light switches right next to each other. I have seen this unit with a Traction Control off button in a YouTube video, so I know it is available. Second: I expected an external microphone as there was one in the Carsoll YouTube video as well. Third: There is a connector with eight pins and orange wires that do not seem to have a home. Even just an illustration of the unit and where the connected wires go would suffice for instructions, or a complete install on YouTube would be enough to guide the experienced installer. Also there are no programming instructions. Even if you have it installed by a PRO, programming instructions are important to set the clock, connect to wifi and Bluetooth etc. I have forwarded my questions to Carsoll customer service but have not heard back from them yet. I will update my review in four to six weeks. Beautiful unit, mostly plug and play, fired right up. AC works, has provisions for heated and cooled seats, can't wait to nail down the final details.
